When Your Friend Becomes a Hippy

Our friend Billy moved to San Diego and became a complete hippy. He started riding weird boards (not thrusters) and fell for shooting film. Well, at least he has a job, and he doesn’t frequent the Dog Beach Soup Kitchen. Either way, here’s his take on photography after his first couple rolls…

“Shooting film taps into this feeling of patience that is no longer found in our society. There is no instant-satisfaction in this pursuit. You must take your time and wait for the results. It is a good mental exercise that many people could benefit from.

Shooting film is like taking a mini-vacation from the fast-paced digital lifestyle we are all quickly getting sucked into.
This roll of film is me taking a vacation and trying to capture some moments in time before all this shit gets turned into robots.”
