For the Fellow East Coast Road-Rippers

I recently stumbled upon a 42-year-old surf film which documents a classic surf trip to one of our favorite locations: Cape Hatteras.  According to Brian Tissot’s YouTube page, Dave Bence, Frank Dorenkamp, Pat Fulks and Tissot himself journeyed from Virginia to OBX and even further south to Florida in search of waves and pure freedom.

The URN team has been making this pilgrimage every year (sometimes more than once) and we do not plan on stopping.  Cape Hatteras has an always will be a magical place where friends convene for post-surf bonfires and beer.

The quality of the 8mm camera gives the film an awesome, nostalgic feel.  While the surfing is not what you would call “professional”, the film is the quintessence of stoke.  In addition, the short edit shows a raw version of a famous spot on the Outer Banks.  So, for those that know, keep an eye on the lighthouse’s location…

There is no better feeling than the open road and not a worry in sight (not to mention waves upon arrival).  Check the film below and let the stoke ride free…

Check out a few of the edits we’ve made while campaigning south…

They aren’t good, but we make them anyways…
